Rising Students grab FAO Women League title

Rising Students Club emerged champions in the 3rd FAO Women Football League, defeating Mangala Club by a solitary goal in their last match at Barabati Stadium here today. Priya Xaxa scored the goal in the very first minute.
Defending champions East Coast Railway settled as runners-up this time. They drew their last game against State Sports Hostel 1-1. Sasmita Behera restored parity for Sports Hostel in the 58th minute after Deogi Murmu gave East Coast Railway the lead in the 13th minute.
Rising Students finished at the top of the table with 13 points from five matches, which included four wins and one draw. East Coast Railway won two and drew three to end with seven points. The third edition of the FAO Women League featured six teams and a total of 15 matches.
